Pregnancy & Postpartum Assessments

Expert Care for Pregnancy, Birth & Recovery

Whether you’re preparing for birth, experiencing pain during pregnancy, or navigating recovery after having a baby, specialized physical therapy can make a meaningful difference.

At JB Physical Therapy, we offer comprehensive, one-on-one assessments that go beyond a traditional pelvic floor evaluation. We take the time to understand how your body is functioning, address your concerns, and provide individualized recommendations based on your needs.

What Brings You Here?

You don’t need to be experiencing pain or other symptoms to benefit from pregnancy or postpartum physical therapy.

Some women come to prepare for labor and delivery. Others are dealing with symptoms they’ve been told are simply part of pregnancy or motherhood.

Common reasons women seek care include:

  • Preparing for labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery

  • Pubic symphysis, pelvic girdle, hip, neck, or back pain

  • Urinary leaking, urgency, or bowel dysfunction

  • Pelvic organ prolapse, heaviness, or pressure

  • Diastasis recti and abdominal weakness

  • Pelvic pain or pain with intimacy

  • Feeling weak or disconnected from your body after birth

  • Returning to running, Pilates, lifting, or other exercise

Whether you’re feeling great and want to be proactive or have a specific concern you’d like addressed, your assessment is tailored to you.

Why Women Choose JB Physical Therapy

✓ One-on-one care every visit

✓ Private 60-minute appointments

✓ Whole-body approach—not just the pelvic floor

By planning for both visits in advance, you’re prioritizing your recovery before life with a newborn gets busy.

Pregnancy Assessment

Prepare for Birth. Address Symptoms. Understand Your Body.

You don’t have to wait until something hurts to see a pelvic health physical therapist during pregnancy.

Your Pregnancy Assessment is an opportunity to understand how your body is adapting and prepare for the changes ahead.

If you’re experiencing pelvic pain, pubic symphysis discomfort, leaking, or difficulty staying active, we’ll address those concerns. If you’re feeling well, we can focus on birth preparation and ways to support your body through pregnancy and recovery.

Your assessment includes:

  • Comprehensive full-body evaluation

  • Core, breathing, and pelvic floor assessment

  • Labor and birth preparation

  • A personalized treatment plan

You’ll leave with recommendations specific to your assessment findings, along with lifetime access to B Recovered™ for postpartum guidance.

Postpartum Recovery Assessment

Because Medical Clearance and Physical Recovery Aren’t the Same Thing

Your postpartum OB appointment is an essential part of your medical care. But being cleared to resume activity doesn’t necessarily mean your core, pelvic floor, and strength have fully recovered.

A Postpartum Recovery Assessment complements your OB care by taking a closer look at how your body is functioning after pregnancy and delivery.

Whether you’re experiencing leaking, prolapse symptoms, diastasis recti, pain, or simply don’t feel as strong or connected to your body as you once did, we’ll evaluate your recovery and provide recommendations based on your individual findings.

And you don’t have to be six weeks postpartum. Whether it’s been six weeks, six months, or several years since you gave birth, it’s not too late to address your concerns.

Your assessment includes:

  • Comprehensive postpartum evaluation

  • Core, breathing, and pelvic floor assessment

  • A personalized recovery plan

  • Return-to-exercise guidance

Your assessment includes lifetime access to B Recovered™.

Not sure which is right for you? Just reach out—we’re always happy to help you decide.

What Happens After Your Assessment?

Some women find that their assessment and personalized home program provide the guidance they need. Others benefit from additional one-on-one physical therapy to address symptoms or work toward specific goals.

At the end of your assessment, Dr. Jessica will review her findings, answer your questions, and recommend appropriate next steps.

There are no predetermined treatment packages. Your care is based on your individual needs.
